Tool #8: Video Resources

The two videos that I have picked out are songs to different concepts. I have used both videos and music in my class and find that student's tend to retain more information this way. Using video's that incorporate songs is a wonderful way to have students learn new concepts. It's easier for them to remember information that way....and they have doing it...it's always fun to learn a new song!!!

Tool # 8

Videos are a wonderful way to have students interested in what they are learning.

Tool #7: Digital Storytelling

Wow!!!! This has by far been my favorite tool. How fun!!! I know students will love this!!! Using Photostory is a great way to get students involved in story telling and will allow them to be creative. Also, Photostory was so easy to use, I know the students will love doing projects with PhotoStory! Photostory can be applied in all subject areas from problem solving in math to science expierements the students have done. I am excited about PhotoStory and can't wait to use it in my classroom. Plus, I'll say it again, it's super duper easy to do and fun at the same time. Yay!!!!!

Tool #5: Tagging & Social Bookmarking

Bookmarking can be a good way to organize websites and great way to share websites. It's also a good way to store kid friendly websites for students to use.

Getting started with the Delicious account did fustrate at first, but with the help of Adrian I was able to figure out what I needed to do.

Internet Activities for Kids

I thought this could be a useful because it allow's students to work online in different subject areas.

Fun Science Experiements

This website I thought had some fun expierements.

Tool #4: Cool Google Tools

Google Reader is a great way to have easy access to different articles. This is a great way to stay updated with new articles for the classroom and also articles of special interest to oneself.  I enjoyed looking for articles and found good articles that offered many ideas or suggestions for the classroom. These articles  will be a great resource to use  when planning lesson and activities with students.

Google Doc is a useful tool to stay communicte with team members or family members all in one spot. Google Doc will also be useful for students to work on assignments and easily collaborate with eachother.

Tool #3: Image Generators & Mashup

This was a lot of fun. I used Wordle and Spell with Flickr. I think this a fun creative way for students to demonstrate what they have learned. I believe they will be excited about using tools like this and will enhance their learning. Students will be eager to create their products in this exciting way. I think its a win win for both the students and teachers to incoporate some of these tools in the classroom.
I also used Image Chef...that was a real fun one!!!!!

Tool #2: Building Community & Comments

1. What are your thoughts about building an online education community and participating in a PLN?

2. What point stood out to you from the commenting advice?

3. What five blogs did you select for your comments? (you may need to come back and add this information later by editing this post.)

1. Having a PLN is a great way to stay connected with teachers. PLN seems to be the reality of the future and as educators we need to get used to the idea. PLN is a great way to collaborate and be able to recieve feedback quickly. It also enables up to stay up with the times.

2. A point that stood out form me the most was the fact that students are sometimes more aware of technology than us and this would be a great way to use technology.
3. I commented on Geaux Blog, 11 Tools Wendy Terry,  Miss Ed's Musing, Danielle's Adventures in Learning New Technology, and 11 steppin
